La-Conchita
is a tiny seaside community that sits along the Highway 101, southeast of Santa Barbara. La Conchita's population is approximately 300, but it was once a thriving banana farming community. Today, many people own vacation homes in La Conchita where they can sit and gaze out at the blue Pacific Ocean right from their own front porch. You will find affordable beach bungalows, as well as huge estates in the town of La Conchita, as this little bit of paradise is fast becoming popular as a place to own a second home. The town is situated right across the street from the La Conchita-Seacliff Beach and is popular for fishing, snorkeling, surfing, scuba diving and beachcombing. The water is brisk, so wet suits are recommended. Hike the beach and look for tidepools, or take a romantic stroll as you watch the sun sink slowly into the sea. If you tire of sunning and relaxing on the beach, it's an easy commute on Highway 101 to other beachfront towns such as Carpinteria, Ventura, and Santa Barbara. The city of Los Angeles is just a short, scenic drive down the coast highway. But, for privacy and peace and quiet, nothing beats La Conchita as a vacation retreat. Leave the crowds behind and come enjoy the sun, sand and surf in unspoiled La Conchita.

Southern California is home to a small, sun-drenched valley, approximately 90 minutes north of Los Angeles, that closely resembles Tuscany or the south of France in both weather and appearance. The Ojai Valley is ten miles long and three miles wide and encompasses the towns of Meiners Oaks, Mira Monte, Oak View and Casitas Springs. This region has a mild Mediterranean climate that offers more than 300 days of sunshine per year and warm, dry summers and very mild winters. The climate is greatly influenced by the ocean, but since it lies inland just a few miles, temperatures are slightly warmer than right along the coastline. The rainy season is between November and March, with low clouds and fog sometimes present in the early hours of the morning. Otherwise, it is usually sunny with pleasant ocean breezes.
