Glen-Ellen
is a small town of approximately 1,000, located in the heart of the Sonoma County/Napa Valley Wine Country. This picturesque village is tucked in the valley surrounded by giant oaks, just minutes from downtown Sonoma and approximately an hour northeast from San Francisco. Glen Ellen is a romantic spot, near famous wineries and scenic vineyards, just a short drive to several historic towns, quaint shops, relaxing day spas and fabulous restaurants. It's an ideal getaway for honeymoons, family reunions, wine tasting tours, relaxing spa treatments, or anytime you feel like experiencing the serenity and beauty of the wine country. Area attractions include Jack London State Park, Sugarloaf Ridge State Park, Sonoma's Train Town, Armstrong Redwood Forest, the Russian River and approximately 35 miles away are the Pacific Coast fishing villages of Jenner and Bodega Bay. Enjoy fishing and rafting the Russian River, hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, golf, visiting the hot springs and mud baths of Sonoma County, Old Faithful Geyser, the Petrified Forest and Bale Grist Mill State Park. The area if filled with antique shops, boutiques, unique gift shops, world-class restaurants and inns. The wine country is known for its cozy, romantic bed & breakfasts, but lodging can also be found in a variety of other establishments, such as hotels, cabins and cottages and rental homes.

The Northern California coast, just north of San Francisco, is a mild climate region of warm days and cool nights. Right along the coast, summers are cool and foggy and the further inland you go, the sunnier and warmer it gets. Coastal low clouds and fog usually burns off by early afternoon. There is little or no rain May through September, with the rainy season beginning in late October or November. Flooding is a problem in winter when rains are heavy within a short period of time. There is an occasional light frost in the area, but generally temperatures stay above the freezing mark. Fall is usually the sunniest season along the northern California coast without the fog of summer or the clouds and rain of winter.
