sits midway between Los Angeles and San Diego amid the rolling hills and coastal bluffs of the Pacific Ocean. Considered one of the most romantic spots in California, the man-made harbor at Dana Point attracts thousands of visitors each year. The scenery is magnificent, especially from a promontory bluff known as “The Headlands,” which overlooks Dana Point Harbor. You will find everything here, including a marina with 2,500 boat slips, complete harbor facilities, boat rentals, fishing, sailing, windsurfing, jet skiing, kayaking, swimming, walking or playing on the beach. Shopping is a fun activity in Dana Point at the Mariners Alley and Mariners Village, as well as dozens of interesting shops at the Dana Point Harbor. You’ll find everything from art and collectibles, custom made jewelry, designer sunglasses and clothing, premium ice creams, t-shirts and trinkets. Whale watching is popular at Dana Point December through March, and the annual “Festival of Whales,” is held each March. Several whale-watching excursions are available from Dana Point Harbor. Dana Point offers so much to see and do; your only problem will be finding enough time to enjoy this incredibly beautiful seaside town!

The Southern Pacific coastline, between Los Angeles and San Diego, enjoys some of the most beautiful weather in the state year round. This region boasts over 300 days of sunshine per year, balmy days and cool evenings - perfect for beachcombing, tennis, golf and other outdoor activities. The rainy season runs November through early April, with dry conditions and low humidity the rest of the year. It's not unusual to go all summer with no precipitation at all. Low clouds and fog are usually present right along the coastline on warmer summer days, but clears up by early afternoon. The summer heat is moderated by cool ocean breezes, but keep in mind that as you travel inland away from the cooling effect of the ocean, the temperatures rise (although not to uncomfortable levels.) Thunderstorms in this area are infrequent and light.
