Llano
is a small, quiet community of 1,200 located in the Antelope Valley region of the West Mojave Desert of Los Angeles County. Llano is near such other colorful communities as Valyermo, Pearblossom, Pinon Hills and Littlerock. One of the most interesting things to see in the Llano area is the geological wonder of The Devil’s Punchbowl. The punchbowl is a 1,310-acre park that consists of rugged rock formations on the north slope of the San Gabriel Mountains. The terrain in the park ranges from pine forests to desert, and has hiking and horseback trails, picnic areas, rock climbing, a natural history museum and more. Other points of interest near Llano include the Poppy Reserve, the 745-acre park of Vasquez Rocks, Saddleback State Park and Little Rock Reservoir. Fishing and boating are available at Little Rock Reservoir. Llano makes a great home base for your family vacation with all the adventures of Los Angeles a mere 39 miles away, including Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Castle Amusement Park and Six Flags Magic Mountain! For something a little different, away from the crowds and noise of the big cities, come to Llano in southern California!

Southern California ,east of Los Angeles is a unique area for weather. It ranges from the High Desert Region of the Antelope Valley to the mountains of the San Bernardino National Forest. The Greater Antelope Valley is described as having a semi-arid, four-season climate with low humidity. The region ranges in elevation from 2,500 to 3,975 feet above sea level, and it is relatively dry in all seasons. Light winter snow can occur anywhere in the Antelope Valley, although it is not common. The higher mountain regions have more variable weather, depending on elevation. Generally, it is dry and sunny in the summertime and wildfire is always a threat. The rainy season begins in October, with January through March being the wettest months. Weather can change rapidly in the mountains, so visitors are advised to come prepared for a variety of conditions.
