Corralitos is a small community located in the hills of Santa Cruz County on the Central Coast of California. It is just south of the town of Aptos and north of Watsonville, approximately 50 minutes from the San Jose Airport. This is rural Santa Cruz County – beautiful, secluded, inviting - surrounded by apple orchards, vineyards and redwoods and just a half hour drive to Pacific Coast beaches. The little town of Corralitos is famous for its apple orchards and its town market, which smokes its own meat and sausage. The village also has a very charming town center.” A few miles south of town is the Pajaro Valley, one of the richest agricultural valleys in the country. This is where you’ll find the town of Watsonville, known as the “Strawberry Capital of the World.” Watsonville holds a weekly farmer’s market April through October, and is famous for its’ annual “Antique Fly-In” where antique and experimental aircraft are on display. Other attractions in the area near Corralitos include the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, Sunset State Beach and the seaside towns of Carmel and Monterey. Outdoor recreational opportunities include hiking the redwoods, swimming, surfing, biking, golf and fishing.

Corralitos Weather & Climate

The Central Pacific Coast, between San Francisco and the Monterey Bay, enjoys a mild, Mediterranean type climate. It can be cloudy and damp in the wintertime but spring through fall is sunny, warm and dry %u2013 perfect for enjoying the area%u2019s beaches. This region that is at the northern tip of the Monterey Bay does not experience much variation in daytime temperatures, but nights are generally cooler in winter than in summer. The rainy season runs late October through early April, with the rest of the year experiencing only a trace of precipitation. Early morning fog is common along the coast in the summertime, due to warm air moving across the cool waters of the Pacific Ocean. Due to very dry conditions in summer, wildfire is always a threat in the forested mountain regions and in winter, mudslides can occur on mountain roads when lots of rain is received over a period of a few days.
