Corona
is an upscale community located approximately 45 miles southeast of Los Angeles in Riverside County. When it was founded in 1886, Corona was a small farming community known for its fertile lands and produce. City officials decided to build the town around a central point known as "Grand Boulevard," which was lined with pepper trees. Most homes and businesses were built out around this circle, thus giving the town the nickname "The Circle City." Today, the 141,000 residents of this pristine, lovely community have a high quality of life, where most of the population is made up of young, well-educated families. The city boasts 394 acres of parks, many sports fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, playgrounds, and two skateparks. The Corona Public Library and the Fender Museum of Music and the Arts provide cultural and educational programming, and the Senior Center is a hub of activity with programs, workshops and social gatherings for the city's elders. There are several golf courses located in Corona, and the city is also home to a hot springs spa that offers mud baths and professional salon treatments. Corona is only twenty miles to Disneyland and strategically situated near many other southern California attractions.

Southern California ,a few miles inland from the ocean, enjoys a mild climate year round. Like most of the state, summers are generally dry due to a semi-permanent high pressure system that sits in the Pacific Ocean and holds storm tracks well to the north. Warm air moving over the cool ocean in summer creates fog that moves in during the evening and early morning hours but almost always dissipates by midday. The rainy season is late October through early April, with March being the wettest month. Some flash flooding can occur when large amounts of rain occur in winter over a period of one or two days. In summertime, very dry conditions in the higher elevations mean forest fires are always a threat. Weather conditions vary widely depending on elevation in southern California. Weather can change rapidly in the mountains, including snow in the wintertime, so visitors are advised to come prepared for a variety of conditions.
